Bummer
Well I guess I was bound to have a bad year at Silverton, and it happens to be this year. Sales were way down for myself as well as the surrounding artists. I am hoping that this is not an indication for the rest of the sales I have planned this year. I will try to be positive and keep moving forward! There was a bracelet at the sale and it read, "Creativity takes courage." I'll try to be brave!

Start with a corner
So my friend Dani introduced me to the wonderful little nursery on Sauvie Island called Cistus this last weekend. It was awesome! If you're into weird/unusual plants, this is the place for you. Also, since recently I have become a succulent addict, they have an amazing array of agave, yucca, aloe and sedum for both indoor and out. So many plants and not enough money or a plan for them all! I did pick up a few things though, and I have begun a new project in my yard starting with what was a neglected corner. I had a lot of fun putting this together and liked how it is far less intimidating to just start with a small section and not have to worry about the larger whole just yet. The corner already had a beautiful, tall zebra grass and about a zillion hens and chicks around it, so that was my platform to start with. I wanted to go with sort of a low maintenance garden with mostly drought tolerant plants and hopefully after the first year or so, it will become just that! So far so good, and as the year progresses I'll move the garden down the fence line. I can't wait until next spring!
